St. John Hospital and Medical Center
"Recently St. John had a need to fill newly funded positions to help with a new pharmacy initiative. We originally placed an ad in another publication with zero results. That's when Tracy called and asked if we needed help. She said that PharmacyWeek could help us get the word out about our new positions and help us to generate some leads. True to her word, that is exactly what the folks at PharmacyWeek did! By the way, the postcards are awesome! Thanks PharmacyWeek, for helping us to fill these much-needed positions! It has and will continue to be a great joy working with you!"

Corporate Overview

Who We Are; Our Message and Vision

The Bureau of Medicine and Surgery provides high quality, economical health care to approximately 700,000 active duty Navy and Marine Corps members, as well as 2.6 million retired and family members at a little more than half the national per capita average cost. This care is provided while supporting contingency, humanitarian, and joint operations around the world with highly trained, dedicated health care professionals adhering to the principles of Total Quality Leadership.

What Will You Do?

Civilian Navy Pharmacists can practice pharmaceutical care anywhere - from large hospitals to small clinics. Typically, from the beginning, Navy Pharmacists are granted a broader range of responsibilities than at most retail pharmacy stores. As a Navy Pharmacist, you will have the authority to delegate duties, so your time can be spent clinically with Doctors or one-on-one with patients administering medication. Medical and prescription insurance is provided to all Sailors, Officers, and their families. Insurance paperwork and payment collection is not a responsibility of a Navy Pharmacist. Your primary concern will be patient medication and care.

Technologically, the Navy is top-notch when it comes to pharmaceuticals. State-of-the-art equipment used to dispense medicine makes the job of pill counting easy. At some larger hospitals the Navy also has robots for delivering medical supplies and medications. If you're ready to consult with Doctors and advise patients on the proper use of drugs and medicine and medications, and in some cases manage pharmacy staff, set your sails in our direction and apply now!"
