This position is responsible for establishing a provider network vision and strategy as well as executing on all priorities pertaining to developing and maintaining pharmacy and other provider relationships. This includes ensuring that the corporation has the quality, competitive and accessible pharmacy providers under contract to deliver pharmaceutical services to our clients and members for all lines of business including Medicare Part D, Medicaid and Commercial business.
• Support the development of all of Prime’s strategic provider networks and lead the execution of strategic provider network plans that optimize client service and value. • Establish partnerships and negotiate network rates and reimbursement methodologies with Individual Providers, Chain Providers, and Pharmacy Associations. • Assist in an overall Networks strategy development as a key member of the Networks team • Develop and implement programs that encourage Prime’s pharmacy partners to improve dispensing practices and maximize savings to Prime’s clients. • Assembles a talented staff and develops the team by creating vision around common goals. • Creates focus for the department; accurately assessing the work to be accomplished and assigning the right talent for the roles • Work with Prime’s audit team to ensure networks comply with processing standards and fraud, waste and abuse guidelines. • Represent Network Management to the company and external entities: participate in cross-company initiatives, provide sales support for new client and up-sell opportunities, Develop and maintain key relationships with clients and other internal departments (such as Account Management, Clinical, and Product Development). • Other duties as assigned
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, management, or related field and 5-7 years work experience in the PBM or health care industry. • Experience in Provider Network Contracting and Management. • Industry Knowledge – Pharmacy Benefit Management, Retail Pharmacy, Retail & Chain provider representatives, Provider Performance Indicators. • Ability to coordinate multiple projects/tasks simultaneously • Ability to work under pressure and strict timelines • Interpersonal skills necessary to manage staff and build relationships. • Able to travel; some overnight travel is expected.
