A cottage hospital in the best tradition, Grace Cottage is now the center of a five building health care complex in the Otis Health Care Center. Ideally located in scenic Townshend, Vermont, Grace Cottage continues to provide the warm, individualized, professional service upon which the hospital has built its well-deserved reputation.
ABOUT THE FACILITY
Grace Cottage Hospital is a Critical Access hospital composed of 19 beds and 167 employees. The service area includes Windham County in Southeastern Vermont. An area representing a population of approximately 26,000. The facility provides inpatient care; full array of radiology support; rehabilitation (PT, OT and Speech), outpatient clinic. Our member medical staff provides services such as Family Health, Pediatrics, Mental Health, Podiatry, and Emergency Services. The hospital utilizes Cerner EMR software.
ABOUT THE COMMUNITY
Townshend was chartered in 1753. While the early settlers focused on farming, in the late 1700’s opportunities in manufacturing, retail and hospitality grew. Today Townshend maintains a quiet idyllic look typical of a quaint New England village. Townshend is nestled in the upper West River Valley just 17 miles north of Brattleboro. It is a small community of about 1,200 full time residents and roughly 469 households.
Townshend is located 15 minutes to the interstate for easy access to cities like Boston and Burlington in about 3 hours.
Entry level Pharmacist position to provide support to both the hospital (approximately 70% of time) and the retail (about 30%) side of Otis Health Care. This includes but is not limited to: processing orders; medication reviews; clinical monitoring; coordination of patient needs in both the Rehab and Acute Care environments (discharging; working with nurses and providers); dispensing functions in both staff and clinical roles; immunizations; Warfarin Clinic; and medication therapy management. Requires 2 to 5 years experience; must be a Licensed Pharmacist in Vermont or able to be reciprocated; immunization certified a plus.
