Parkview Health is a not-for-profit, community-based health system that serves northeast Indiana, northwest Ohio and southern Michigan. 

The Infectious Disease Clinical Specialist provides pharmaceutical care services to the patients of Parkview Health, oversight of information and dispensing processes and systems, as well as transformational leadership in the development of an antimicrobial stewardship program. Services include, but are not limited to, oversight, monitoring, preparation, dispensing, and proper documentation of patient medication therapy, as well as advising physicians on medication usage and control within assigned hospital locations. This pharmacist will work in close relationship with infectious disease physicians and other leaders to promote resource stewardship, quality outcomes, and service excellence of pharmaceutical care.

The well-qualified candidate should possess these characteristics and career experiences:

  • An appreciation for automated technologies, as Parkview has been an early adopter of such technologies including Pyxis® MedStations™, Pyxis® CUBIE *Replenishment System, Pyxis® Connect and Pyxis® CII Safe™, Talyst’s Autopack® and Autopharm® inventory management software and Baxa EM 2400™ TPN compounder.
  • Work experience within a progressive pharmaceutical care environment in a variety of practice settings.
  • A Bachelor’s, Master’s or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy, and one to two years post-graduate experience or post-graduate training (i.e. pharmacy practice residency, specialty residency training, or fellowship) in infectious disease. Candidates must retain, or be eligible for, a valid license as a registered pharmacist from the Indiana State Board of Pharmacy.
