What We Do:

Directly, and through our subsidiaries, Omnicare provides a broad array of pharmacy-related services to long term care facilities and to other customers in the healthcare environment. While senior care has long been an MedCare specialty, we also serve other targeted populations.


Overview: Will have a full responsibility for stocking (with Pharmacist oversight) and dispensing controlled substances for the pharmacy. Will have detailed job responsibilities and training.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Fill all narcotic prescriptions for facilities as directed
  • Adhere to all pertinent local, state, and federal pharmacy regulations
  • Fill all narcotic prescriptions for all facilities as directed Maintain perpetual inventory and check for accuracy
  • Process returns for Narcotics Room prescriptions, return to inventory or discard as instructed
  • Handle inventory, responsible for all reports, discrepancies, and missing product
  • Re-package medications Maintain Narcotics Room cleanliness and compliance
  • Other duties as assigned; Job duties may vary by location


Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
  • You are knowledgeable of and have experience with controlled drug packaging procedures
  • Additionally you possess knowledge of DEA and Federal laws for CII – CV prescriptions
  • Must be available to work days, nights and weekends
    Registered as a pharmacy Technician with the Minnesota Board of Pharmacy


  • Preferred Qualifications:
    Prior pharmacy experience a plus but not mandatory.
  • You possess strong verbal communication skills, including having strong communication with Dispensing Pharmacists
  • You effectively communicate with employees, facility staff members, and others within organization
  • You are able to write routine correspondence and interpret reports
  • Your math skills are at or above a basic level
  • You exhibit excellent skills in usage of fax machine, and basic computer skills


  • Education:
    High School diploma or GED equivalent.
